Mongolia, Visited country # 49 with my Colombian passport and my own money (if the number helps here) an incredible place.
I planned this trip since long ago. Im now 32 ( i only remember that number when i have to tell my age) I have dreamed with mongolia since i was 20, maybe because it sounds like a far far place, like french Polynesia or Siberia or Iceland, places I dream with. I didnt want to enjoy Mongolia, i just wanted to be here. Im now in a train from Sainshand to Ulanbataar…
We spend 1 night in Sainshand, a small town 5 hours north of the chinese border, We reached Mongolia via a 12 hour bus from Beining to Erlian, the Chinese border. And we had reached Beijing by train, from our home in Zibo.
Mongolia id full of dramatic landscapes, open spaces and long intervals of nature, not a single house, road or fence. Animals are all free, Locas told me animals return every night to their ownes so they dont need fences. Ox, caws, lamb all share the huge plain of mongolia.
Landscapes in Mongolia are great, some of the most beautiful contrasts I have ever seen. Grass, plains, mountains, dessert, rivers in an immense open space.
UlaanBataar was all I expected and more. A traditional but vibrant city, with modern areas and all the Russian-Asian feeling. The main temple is beautiful, the food is delicious with a lot of meat, the sense of culture is great too, concerts and art mixed with traditional customs and very kind people.
In mongolia…
We took a train from china to the Gobi desert.
We visited a energy center monastery in Gobi desert
We drunk a lot of horse milk, normal or fermented
We visited ulanbataar
Climbed a unfinished 10f building to take a picture
